Integration Architect - Engineering Manager

Permanent employee, Full-time · Amsterdam

About us
Our team has been built with the same attention and care as our product, and we value motivated and impact-driven team players. For more information about us, you can visit the Crunchr career page.
Some context about the role
As an Integration Architect Manager at Crunchr, you will develop a platform that accelerates our implementation team and customer’s ability to tap into the value of people analytics.

Our current integration platform is built around Jenkins, StackStorm, Python and pandas, but it is not flexible and scalable enough to support our future needs. We are developing a new platform, based on Kubernetes, and we need your expertise to make this a success. The platform will need to include a suite of plugins/connections integrating with internal and external systems, esp. HR systems such as Workday or SuccessFactors. The main users will be internal data engineers and customer teams, and the platform should provide tooling, automation, observability, and self-service capabilities. This is your chance to help us pick the architecture and technologies that will serve us for years to come!

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical leadership and hands-on development. You will spend at least half of your time contributing to architecture, coding, and code reviews, while also building and mentoring a team, coordinating delivery, and aligning with stakeholders. Your work will directly impact our customers, driving customers’ adoption, improved user experience and faster time to value.

You will report to the VP Product (also based in Amsterdam) and collaborate closely with the Engineering and Infrastructure teams to ensure the platform evolves in line with business and technical needs.
If you have a curious mind and you want to take broad ownership on deep problems, we invite you to apply for the opportunity to help us shape the future of Crunchr!

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Gather and refine requirements to design and architect a platform that will be used to connect to other systems (mainly HR systems) and pull data into Crunchr.
  • Develop and get buy-in for solutions that serve the data engineering team's tooling needs and ensure an end-to-end service for importing data into Crunchr.
  • Drive the design and implementation of REST and GraphQL APIs, and ensure seamless integration with internal systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with and subsequently lead a team of senior full-stack engineers to design, develop, and maintain a platform that enhances data engineering and customer implementation workflows and productivity.
  • Take ownership, balance trade-offs in decisions, address conflicts in a productive manner, and pull the team to deliver results.
  • Mentor engineers, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support career development within the team.
