Some context about the role

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a talented team of 4 Software Engineers, focused on developing robust content creation capabilities including intuitive dashboards, AI-driven content creation, collaborative editing, content sharing, and smart insights and alerts.
This role is ideal for someone who is looking to combine technical work with team leadership: you will spend at least half of your time on technical involvement - such as architecture, coding, testing, and code reviews - while the remainder will be focused on developing the team, planning & coordinating, and guiding delivery. Your technical insights will help shape scalable, maintainable systems, while your leadership will drive the team to deliver on the roadmap with excellence.

You will partner closely with the team's Product Manager and Product Designer to align on strategic goals, bridge technical and business needs, and bring the product vision to life. You will report directly to the Head of Engineering (also based in Amsterdam). If you have a curious mind and you want to take broad ownership on deep problems, we invite you to apply for the opportunity to lead a high-performing team to deliver impactful solutions!

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Lead a team of Software Engineers to deliver Crunchr's roadmap by coordinating technical and architectural matters in the life cycle of products & features.
  • Develop and design software, think through problems and anticipate future usage so that you and the team build products & features that appropriately considers scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product and UX to align your engineering goals with business outcomes, ensuring the technical feasibility and technical debt are considered in product requirements discussions.
  • Take ownership, balance trade-offs in decisions, address conflicts in a productive manner, and pull the team to deliver results.
  • Mentor the people on your team, help them set personal goals, give feedback, and empower others to perform and improve.
